Tara
Tara was found on the street with severe gastroenteritis, dehydration and extreme weakness — too weak to be left where she was. She came into the shelter for treatment and monitoring.
She recovered fully. Once she was strong enough, she was cleared for a forever home: the outcome we are working towards for every animal we take in.
Outcome: full recovery, cleared for adoption.

The Chembur road-accident dog
He was crossing a road when a car hit him, taking the impact on his mouth. His jaw was injured and misaligned, and he could not eat at all.
A feeder from Chembur got him to the shelter. He was treated, managed soft and wet food while he healed, and gradually returned to dry food — the point at which we knew he was going to be fine.
Outcome: eating dry food again and out of danger. Our own line, and we meant it — we don't give up on our babies. Ever.

The enucleation case
A cat was found on the street with an eye completely out of the socket, in constant pain. Nothing could save the eye; leaving it would have meant infection spreading.
We published the case as a funding appeal for emergency enucleation surgery — the removal of the damaged eye to stop the infection. The appeal came with a standing promise: all medical records and bills shared with the people who paid for it.
Outcome: surgery funded and performed; recovery updates shared.

The maggot-wound dog
Admitted to Parel SPCA with a severe nasal maggot wound. The treatment period overlapped with our pre-monsoon relocation, when every animal under our roof had to be moved to safety before the rains — which meant weeks of work and no time for visiting.
The reunion, when it finally happened, is the part we remember. He wagged.
Outcome: treated and recovered at Parel SPCA. In the same period, the whole shelter relocated ahead of the monsoon.
